This song is based partially on Psalm 18, David’s description of when God comes to save His people riding on the wings of the storm. The last verse comes from the story of Elisha and his servant who were surrounded by the army of the Arameans (2 Kings 6:8-19). The servant sees only the enemy army, but Elisha sees the armies of the Living God surrounding them and says, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them” (2 Kings 6:16).
