5 Minutes With Jesus

“5 Minutes With Jesus” is a daily devotional, so named because “eh, anywhere from 4-6 minutes with Jesus” just didn’t have the same ring to it. (And then there’s that one that’s 7 1/2 minutes, but that was on the love of God, and I dare you to keep that to a reasonable length.)

If this is your New Year’s resolution–to spend five minutes falling deeper in love with God every day–then please remember: it’s easy to fall behind and then beat yourself up. But folks, nowhere in Scripture does it say that if you miss a day reading your Bible you’re a bad Christian. Nowhere does it say that if you fail to meet the goal you’ve set for yourself, you’ve failed God. It just doesn’t. So if “5 Minutes With Jesus” adds grace to your life, then jump on it. If it adds guilt to your life, flee from it. Hopefully, it adds grace. If you’re looking for a place to start, I recommend “Free, Free, Free, Free, Free.”
